Leor Lab

The laboratory focuses on cardiovascular regenerative medicine. Of particular interest is the plasticity of monocytes, macrophages, mesenchymal stromal cells and the interaction with the extracellular matrix. We are interested in identifying and modulating signals that amplify inflammation, fibrosis and aging. The laboratory also develops and employs theranostic (therapy and diagnosis)  approaches to optimize healing, repair, and regeneration. The research combines biological engineering, nano-medicine  and molecular biology to innovate new approaches to diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases.
