Uri's research aims to explore the mechanisms underlying age-related deterioration of vascular and cardiac function and identify novel therapeutic targets. Toward this aim he studies the role of the longevity gene Sirtuin 6 in the development of cardiovascular disease, regeneration and heart failure by using genetically engineered mice models in collaboration with Prof. Haim Cohen lab (BIU). Furthermore, he studies the role of IL-13 receptor α1 in the development of atherosclerosis and cardiac fibrosis, in collaboration with Dr. Ariel Munitz (TAU) lab.
